My name is Crystal Young, I am the Owner and Photographer for KnightinGayle Photography.

At a young age I was interested in photography. I want to know how the camera work and be able to create images I would be proud of. High school was an amazing experience because it ignited that flame even more because of the photography course they offered. I learned everything about a camera, and I also was able to process my own film in the dark room. You read that right!!! A Dark Room...It was the best feeling to see the image that you personally took slowly appear right in front of you. After High School I continued my love in being behind the camera. I traveled for a living working independently setting up and booking at daycares, pre-school, churches and local events such as engagements, Senior pictures, Sports events and small weddings. I flew my flim to Tennesse at the end of each week in order to get it processed the quality I preferred versus locally. Everything was wonderful with the work however the time that I had invested the cost weighed to much for a young entrepreneur. I decided to take another route and I worked for Lifetouch Studios in Burlington traveling to different schools to set up I enjoyed it but something was still missing. So, I had my first child and I took a complete change in career the normal 8am-5pm that was more stable income and the camera was set to the side. Then my second child 2 years later and then my third child which was 10 years later. Still working the 8am-5pm job up to June of 2021, when I medical situation happened and I lost the ability to walk on my own and my heart rate not stable...I was bedridden for close to 4 months and after seeing over 16 different doctors I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Disease and also waiting on the diagnoses of Pots Syndrome. With the right treatment plan in place I am able to function almost normal! I am walking on my own and return to work for my 8am-5pm job but during that time at home due to the medical issues my heart wanted to go back to photography...I wanted to provide images to indivdiuals, couples and families. So here I am back at it after almost 17 years! I am grateful to be where I am today and I look forward to helping capture everlasting memories for your family!
